In the first season of series, Dexter Morgan was adopted by a Miami Police Officer, Harry Morgan who detected his homicidal tendencies and encouraged his son to utilize his violent impulses in a very positive manner by killing people who deserve it. His victims include mobs, serial killers and flagitious criminals who have slipped through the justice system as no effort was ever made to prosecute them. In order to satisfy his interest in blood and to alleviate his own crimes.
